How can I find other Awardees or Alumni on the Portal?

To find other awardees or alumni, click the ‘Other Users’ tab on the front dashboard, where you can search by University of Country of Origin. You will be able to see how many Modules that person has completed, and at what point they are up to in their Reintegration Planning Journey. By clicking on their name you can view their profile and read their WPR outline. If you want to contact that person, just click the ‘Connect with me’ icon on their profile.

How do I complete the modules?

In order to successfully complete the Reintegration Planning Journey, you will need to complete each module in a sequential order. Each module is timed to coincide with a particular stage of your Award. When it is time to log into the portal and complete a Module, we will first send you an email notification with clear instructions and information.

Should I complete the modules in one go?

You must not complete all modules in one go, as your profile will then be deactivated. As per the email notifications that will be sent to you at different stages of your Award, you must complete each module in a sequential order. You will be expected to access the portal and complete the modules during pre-mobilisation, after arriving in Australia, at the end of each Semester, prior to the Reintegration Workshop in your final graduating semester, and then 12 months after graduation and returning home.

What happens when I finish all of the modules?

Once you have completed Module Five, you should download a final pdf copy of your My WPR e portfolio to keep with you, and your profile will then be deactivated two weeks after completion of the final module. Your communication with the Australia Awards (Africa) program will continue via the Alumni Network Database, Africa Connect, and any other alumni associations or networks you are involved in.

Can I access the portal at any time during my Award?

Yes, you can. Even when you are not accessing the portal specifically to complete a module, you can log in at any time and make any updates to the work you have already done on your My WPR e portfolio. You can also peruse the profiles of other users, make connections with them, and re-watch any videos from previous modules.

Do I get a Certificate if I pass the course?

After you successfully complete each Module, you will be able to print out a certificate of completion. Once you complete the final page of the Module, you will be taken to a completion screen where you can click ‘PRINT CERTIFICATE’. It will show that you have done 100% of that Module. From there, you can just click ‘Home’ to be taken to the front dashboard again. To view which modules you have completed, you can click ‘View My Results’ from the front dashboard.

How do I update the ‘My WPR’ e portfolio?

All of your WPR and reintegration planning information and ideas will be captured in a separate e portfolio accessible via the dashboard. This is called ‘My WPR’. In completing each Module, there will be a link inside the module called ‘Access your WPR e-portfolio’. Once you click this, a second screen will appear taking you directly to your WPR e-portfolio. As per the instructions of that Module, you can then complete the relevant WPR questions, before returning to and completing the Module.

Can I print and save my WPR from the e-portfolio?

Yes. You are able to print your WPR from the e-portfolio, and save as a pdf.

What else can I store in the My WPR e-portfolio?

You are able to record the details of any academic or professional clubs or associations that you join while on award, and you can create a CV on the front page of the e-portfolio. When you click ‘Edit Training Record’, you will be taken through to your actual WPR ideas and planning information, including post award reflection.

If I have any questions when using the portal, who should I contact?

If you have any questions or feedback, just click the ‘Feedback’ tab at the top of the front dashboard, and submit your query. We will respond within 2 working days.

What if my course is extended while on award?

It is essential that you update this information on your Profile, changing your graduation semester. As we send email notifications based on which graduating cohort you belong to, we want to ensure that you receive the correct announcements and information.

What if I don’t want to share my profile on the portal?

When you first sign in and fill out your Profile, you have the option to share your profile with other users. Where it says ‘Share Profile’ and you can select Yes or No, ensure that you select No.

What will happen to my WPR data once I complete the Reintegration Journey and my profile is deactivated?

After you have completed Module Five, saved a copy of your WPR for yourself, and we have deactivated your profile, we will keep a copy of your My WPR e-portfolio for future records. Your WPR information will be used with others’ information to identify outstanding alumni and possible alumni story opportunities, and for program monitoring and evaluation activities.

How is this Portal different to Africa Connect?

The Reintegration Planning Portal is a tool to facilitate your reintegration journey. The platform does not allow for in depth social networking or discussion, and instead is focused on developing your Work Plan on Return. Africa Connect however, allows you to become a member of one of the groups such as On Award and Alumni, and engage in meaningful dialogue and discussion with other students. You are encouraged to join Africa Connect as soon as you register for the Portal.
